THEATER ETIQUETTE

Whether this is your first play or thousandth, we're glad that you've decided to join us for "Every Day Vanilla." Here are a few tips for a smooth visit:

  • Purchase your tickets in advance. Walk-in tickets will be available beginning one hour prior to the start of each show, but to guarantee your seats, we recommend purchasing them online.
  • "Unwrap your candies" before the show begins or wait to enjoy them afterwards. Opening a bag of chips or unwrapping a piece of candy may not seem like a big deal, but it can be distracting. Going to the theater isn't like going to the movies. A good rule of thumb is to treat the theater like a library.
  • Arrive early. Come at least 30 minutes early so that you can settle in, use the restroom, purchase concessions if desired, find your seats (it'll be open seating), and skim through the provided program.
  • Turn off your phone and all other digital devices. It's best to turn off your phones or double-check that they're on silent so that you don't disturb other patrons or the actors.
  • No photography or video will be permitted during the performance. You may take photos and videos prior to the performance and during the bows.
  • Make sure your belongings are close and out of the way (underneath your seat or on your lap, if possible). This will help as people settle in.
  • Keep the vibes high and comments respectful. Everyone's reactions to a performance are going to be different — and they should be! — but while you're in the theater, it's best to consider those around you. Putting on a play requires more than just actors. There's an entire team involved, from the stage hands to the director, and you never know who might be sitting around you.

Thank you! We hope you enjoy the show.
